Thermacell partnered with Motiv to refresh their existing product line and expand into new markets—moving from rugged, outdoor-focused solutions into backyards, patios, and fully integrated home systems. The goal: evolve the brand, broaden its reach, and make mosquito protection feel as considered as the spaces it lives in.

From field to home

We began by rethinking Thermacell’s core lineup—redesigning their butane fuel and mat-based repellents for hunters, backpackers, and outdoor enthusiasts. The focus was on improving usability while creating a more cohesive, tech-forward visual language across products. From there, we helped expand the line into the home and backyard with a new suite of fuel-based solutions, bringing effective mosquito protection into more everyday environments.

From innovation to integration

Building on that foundation, we partnered with Thermacell to develop their first electric repeller, Radius, introducing a new level of simplicity and convenience. This platform grew into a full family of products spanning home and outdoor use—including standard and illuminated versions, ruggedized solutions for outdoor enthusiasts, and charging dock systems. Finally, leveraging insights from the electric line, we helped bring Thermacell into the smart home era with LIV—a low-voltage, installed system that protects large outdoor areas at the push of a button or through smart home integration. The result is a complete ecosystem that expands where Thermacell can live, and how seamlessly it fits into everyday life.
